tramp problem down to a tine point.
It is tiis practice when he sees one of

to keep him la sight and if the visi
tor cannot show a habitation either
at one of the hotels or some other
lace after six o'clock in the evening
to put him to bed iu a cell at the
city jail, after Hist -searching him.
1 here the tramp rests till morning,
when Mr. Lane turns him out with
the invitation to leave towu in a half
hour or he will work on the streets.
The invitation is always accepted.

11. O. Hyde, at the age of 84 years,
was seriously stricken at his home
in Forest (irove, hist Tuesday morn
ing and died on Wednesday morn
ing. The funeral oecured yesterday
at 2 o'clock p. m., the remains being
laid to rest in Union cemetry, Forest
(irove. At the time of his dath
Father Hyde was the oldest Odd
Fellow In the shite. Ho was a dt
votcd member of the order and a
strict observer of all the rules
and usages of the same; He was a

ganizing officer of Montezuma lodge,
No. 50. Hillsboro. At the timo of
his death, he was a member of
Washington hslge, No. 48, Forest
(Jrove, which lodge conducted the
funeral ceremonies. A large delega

to be dreaded Is the patient's ad
vanced age, which Is 77 years.
