ENCAMPMENT NOTES Attired in Red Cross uniforms, Misses Lulu Barkham and Fern Reynolds attracted considerable attention in the parade. The members of the Commer cial club worked hard and they have their reward in knowing that the visitors are pleased with their reception and entertainment. The city was beautifully deco rated in patriotic emblems and, while many people thought the money might better be spent for Red Cross work, the visitors ap preciated the extra touch of dec orating. In addition to the meals served at the hotels, restaurants and pri vate homes, the ladies of the Con gregational, Methodist and Chris tian churches, the Scouts of Troop 1 and the Campfire Girls served meals and lunches. The Illinois Veterans’ associa tion had fifty-two members in a t tendance at their meeting out of the 69 registered and a total mem bership of 90. The election of officers resulted as follows: L Ros- sal. president (fourth term); Chas. Welch, vice president (third ternr; T. E. Hills, secretary and treas urer; R. C. Markee, otticer of the day.
