In 1913 w as celebrated all o v e r G er­
m any th e cen ten n ial of th e dow nfall
of N apoleon.

hibition gro u n d s were the m ost m ag­
nificent I have ever seen.

c e n te r of th e park was b u ilt a larg e
artificial lake, with a fine colonnade
e x ten d in g around th ree sides and on
th e fo u rth w as a large, fine cafe. T h is
cafe w as arran g ed In te rra c e s . T he
ta b le s on th e low er te rra c e s w ere for
lig h t refresh m en ts, w hile th e upper
ta b le s w ere for good su b sta n tia l Ger­
m an m eals. A band played aftern o o n
and evening on the edge of th e w ater.
T he sides of th e colonnade w ere sim ­
ply banked w ith flowers. It w as fine
to sit at th e table, listen in g to th e
m usic and looking out over th e lake,
