About two hundred members;
nd friends of the chinch gath
ered in the parlors of the M. F.
Church last Friday evening to
welcome the new pastor and his
wife. Dr. and Mrs. R. E. Dunlap.
The parlors were prettily dec
orated with flowers and ferns.
Some time was spent in conver
sation and meeting the new
pastor and wife, after which a
short p ogram was given, con
sisting of musical numbers given
by the male quartette a d Mr.
Thomas Isaacs, and several short
talks showing the work of the
church in the various depart
ments.
One particularly interesting
feature of the evening's pro
gram was the cleverly written
poem by Mrs. Showers, welcom
ing the pastor anil family.
After a short address of wel
come by W. K. Curtis, chairman
of the Board of Trustees, Dr.
Dunlap responded in his ple ising
manner, and spoke his apprecia
tion of what had been done for
him and his family since their ar
rival. and something of his in
tentions for future work.
