The Mother’s meeting of the W. C. T. U. was held Friday at the Free Methodist church. We had a pleasant meeting in charge of Supt. of Narcotics. An inter esting talk on cigarettes and their moral effects was given by Mrs. Morgan. Mrs. Kerr quoted from the writings of Judge Lindsley and Supt. Olcott, of the Iowa College. The union ap pointed a committee to help the Boys’ Club obtain some necessary chairs for their club rooms. A motion was made to send a com munication from the W. C. T. U. urging the mayor to sustain the Temperance people in Cornelius in their fight for a dry town. Meeting aojourned at usual hour.
