Miss Bertha Dorris, a teacher in the High school spent the week end with friends in Port­ land. Miss Harriett Benjamin, of the Freshman class, spent her Easter vacation visiting friends, Misses Evelyn and Cora McGinn, of near Cornelius. Ethel Fo bes was absent from school with measles last week. Miss Freda Moore was absent from school la$t week on account of a business trip to Portland. The boys are practicing for base ball and track meet which will be held soon. Arbor day, April 11, will he observed by the schools of Forest Grove and programs will be pro­ vided. Miss Anna Taylor made a trip to Hillsboro Tuesday evening. Special Meeting of City Dads. The city council met Tuesday evening to hoar remonstrances to the improving of five addition­ al city blocks with hard surface pavement.
