There were over twenty present and a general good time ensued. An especially enjoyable feature of the evening was the warm moonlit atmosphere, which made it possible to indulge in various games upon the spacious lawn. Music and singing also occupied a good part o f the evening. Mr. Downs made taffy, and was assisted in the pulling by all of the gathering. Wednes­ day, another party, consisting of friends and relatives from Forest Grove, surprised Mrs. Downs by arriving shortly be­ fore noon with well filled bas­ kets. Several beautiful presents were tendered the hostess to­ gether with best wishes for many more such birthdays. Those present were Rev. and Mrs. Up­ ton, Mrs Ed.
