City Council Meets
The City Council met in regu­
lar session Tuesday, Oct. 10, with
Mayor Thornburg and all the
councilmen present. They or­
dered the street committee and
commissioner to see th^t all side­
walks were put in good repair
and where new walks are need­
ed that they be put in at once.
The resignation o f E. B. Sap-
pington as Street Supt. and Wa­
ter and Light Commissioner was
tendered and accepted. P. W.
Watkins was elected S & W Com­
missioner and Robert Wirtz as
Light Commissioner and collect­
or. C. R. Morgan’ s wages as
engineer at the power plant was
raised to $75 per month. V. S.
Fuqua was retained to oversee
the electric light lines.
