Albany— The vast Linn county tim ­
ber holdings o f C. A. S m ith, o f M in­
neapolis, have all been transferred to
the Linn & Lane Tim ber company,
organized in Hennepin county, M inne­
sota. The transfers em brace approxi­
m ately 50,000 acres. The considera­
tion named in one deed is $40,000 and
only a nom inal consideration is m en­
tioned in the others, but the value of
the land transferred is about $1,000,-
000.
The land em braces all o f the old
holdings o f Frederick A . K ribs, of
Portland, and som e additional land
later acquired, by the Sm ith interests
w ith scrip.
Several hundred acres
w ere held join tly by Sm ith, Charles J.
Sw anson and N ils O. W arner. Other
