T. S. Townsend, president of the
Portland Board of Trade, and Mr. Mul­
ler, secretary, of Portland, were in For­
est Grove today calling on the busi­
ness men in the interest of forming a
cooperative board of the state.
One of the most severe rain storms
to visit this state in recent years was
that of a few days ago when an inces­
sant downpour continued for nearly a
week. W. R. Harris reports that the
rain fall exceeded three inches.
Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Lufter of Cran-
brook, Canada, who have been visiting
with Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Todd, the
past two weeks, left this week for
Washington, where they will visit a
short time before returning to their
home.
Wright & Cornelius, who have had
offices in the Forest Grove National
bank building, have discontinued bus­
iness there since forming a partnership
with the Oregon Land Co., and will be
found
at the offices of the latter
company.
Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Hudson came
out from Portland Thursday, to visit a
month in this place and to fix up their
property here. Mr. Hudson was for­
merly city treasurer and school clerk
They are enjoying their usual good
health and their mafty friends are glad
to see them again.

Dyott of the First Congregational
Church of Portland, will speak in the
Congregational church here. The ad­
dress is specially to men though all
people are invited. This service is to
promote a new movement in which
the men of the church are being organ­
ized for more effective work.
The Second Division of the Ladies
Working society, held a social at the
Congregational church Tuesday even­
ing in honor of St. Patrick. Supper
was served after which a short program
was enjoyed.
Mrs. W. W. McEl-
downey and Misses Kate and Maud
Shannon sang, and Mrs. J. F. Griswold
gave an interesting talk on her trip
abroad.
