Phone No. 27X A Retraction Mr. Burke Tongue has found cause to become somewhat aroused over a statement made concerning his part in a horse race at Centerville, an account of which was published in last week s News. As was stated in the article last week accounts of the event were very conflicting and confusing and it was almost impossible to obtain any certain data regarding the affair. Mr. Tongue, however, wishes to state that his opinion on the finish was given only after he was asked and that his motives were sincere and his judgment on the outcome of the race was given from his honest convictions having taken all things into consideration. It was his opinion that the Centerville owner waj being cheated out of the stakes and he wished only to protect him against fraud.
