court by George W. Stapleton, guard­
ian of D. K. Abrams, against J. Thor-

Guarantee & Trust company and W.
N. Ferrin, president of Pacific univer­
sity, charging them with having taken
unlawful advantage of the feeble con­
dition of Abrams in order to have him
make a large gift of land to Pacific uni­
versity and Tualatin academy. The
property in question is a one-half in­
terest in a 91-acre tract of land near
the Portland flouring mills and is al­
leged to be worth $40,000.

Catholics May Build Church

A Catholic church will soon be built at
this place with a good membership, as
the church at Verboort, two and one-
half miles northeast of here, is over­
crowded and this section is fast filling
up with members of the denomination.
