Prof. Chapman and Misses Linehan and Waggener of the conservatory went to Oregon City, Friday, and gave a musical recital which was very well received. Pres, and Mrs. Ferrin went to Van couver, Friday, to attend a concert given by Mrs. Dr. Ebert as a benefit for the Congregational Church of this city. Miller, the druggist, who has had under course of re modification, his business property on Main street, for some weeks, moved his stock of drugs into it the first of this week. The room is large and commodious, handsomely papered and painted. The floor is decorated with linoleum, while the illumination is made by numerous clusters of electric lights. It is heated by a furnace, and in fact has all the modem improvements of a first-class drug store. Mr. Miller informs The News that in addition to his already large stock there is a large amount enroute and invites the public to call. Rev. Zimmerman Resigned Holly Circle Entertain. The ladies of Holly Circle were At Home to the members of the W. O. W. lodge and other invited guests Wednes day evening in the I. O. O. F. hall. Guests to the number of about one hundred were present and enjoyed the program prepared for the occasion. Walker’s Orchestra furnished abun dance of delightful music. Mrs. Mc- Eldowney sang a solo and was heartily encored. The hall was decorated with autumnal maple boughs, which are emblematic of the order. Coffee and cake and punch were the refreshments. The resignation of Rev. Zimmerman, pastor of the Christian Church of this city, was tendered Sunday morning and will be accepted as soon as a new pastor can be had— possibly six weeks. Rev. Zimmerman has been the pastor here since last April and has made a host of friends who will regret his leave taking from the church as its pastor.
