Thomas is showing his friends a new patent umbrella which bids fair to exterminate the present style article. It can be taken entirely apart and put together again by anyone in five min utes. It is constructed so that it has no eyes to rust, the joints resembling the ball and socket joint. Any piece which becomes worn out or is accidentally broken can be replaced by the owner. The cover can be taken off and replac ed at pleasure by any one and a person can have a variety of covers, appro priate for any occasion and change them at pleasure in less than three m inutes.. It will be no more expensh e than the present umbrella and certain ly is much superior. The idea was originated by A. S. Venon and A. B. Thomas. The trout season is on and many local sportmen report large catches but the News has to be shown. Jake Buxton and John McNamer were out recently, and realizing that they would have to back up whatever they said with the goods, they produced as fine a basket of trout as one could wish to see. The News appreciated a goodly por tion of the catch, among which was a beauty 15£ inches long and weighing over a pound. One thing which the News cannot vouch for and that is whether they were caught with a fly or with silver. We will give Jake the credit with landing the big one, as he was still excited when we first saw him. Landing a big brook trout is no easy game.
