A Pretty Wedding at Baker City
A very pretty wedding was solemniz
ed at 2903 First Street, Baker City, at
the residence of the groom, April 14,
at 9 o’clock p. m., when Miss Alice
Endicott was united in marriage to D.
W. Phillips, both of Baker City. The
room was tastefully decorated with
smilax, palms and hot-house flowers.
The ceremony was performed by Rev.
J. R. N. Bell, of Baker City. The
bride was radient in her wedding robe
of champaign colored silk mousselene
de soie, her hair decorated with white
carnations and carrying a bunch of
white carnations in her hand. The
groom was neatly attired in the con
ventional black. The bridesmaid, a
sister of the groom, was dressed in
white silk organdy, wore pink carna
tions in her hair and carried a bunch
of pink carnations. George Ecker-
man, » friend of the groom, was
best man. After congratulations, re
freshments were served by Mrs. Bettie
Bowman, a sister of the bride. The
delicacies consisted of ice cream, cake,
and fruit on tables neatly decorated
with smilax and hyacynths. The
Mystic Circle appeared on the outside
at this time and called for the bride
and groom, who invited them in, treat
ing them to ice cream and cake. Af
ter many congratulations the friends
and relatives bid the bride and groom
good night and left for their various
homes. A handsome steel range was
presented to the bride and groom by
J. Muller, of Baker City; a set of silver
knives and forks, by the grooms’
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. F. Schoen
of Cornelius, and many other gifts
were received.
