HILLSBORO, Nov. 23— Never in the
istory of this county has the productive-
ness ol 1897 beeu equaled. The increase
m price of (arm products has not been
confined to grain but embraces all the
principal products the fa.mers have to
sell. Even the straw piles, which have
heretofore usually been burned, in many
instances this year have been baled and
disposed of a* a good profit. Hops and
oats are proUbly the only crops that
fall short of former years, the shortage
in oats belug due to better prospects in
wheat, and in hops to the rain and mold
at harvest time. The quality of the
hops hat vested is, however, reported by
buyers to be the best in ihe state. A
very careful and conservative estimate
of the output of Washington couuty
products for 1897 follows:
