Foley of Portland, was out to attend the funerarl of Miss Julia Kenny of Buxton who was buried here last Sun day. Mr. and Mrs. Klink of Buxton attended the funeral and owing to the almost im passible condition of the road from Car son’s mill to J. Wilkes’, did not return till Monday. The Band boys were somewhat sur prised 011 Tuesday evening to find the hall filled with a fine lot of benches which Messrs. M. J. and J. M. Gleason, J. T. and Jno. L. Reilinghad constructed for the use of the public. Mr. Otter in an furnished the lumber, Rev. P. DeRoo hasjust finished setting out another acre in apples and prunes for the Parochial grounds. He has also set out some native evergreens around the church. Several of our worthy neighbors are enquiring for Mr. LeCore of whom men tion was made a few weeks ago. He rep resented that he wished to invest largely here and made several bargains for farms which he failed to substantiate. The gentleman(?) went hence several days ago after enjoying the hospitality of the community for a couple of weeks, leav ing no address. The band is practicing regularly and improving rapidly.
