Mr. Del Gant went to Portland Sunday afternoon to attend a practice at the PGE building for the drill to be given at the Grand Chapter of the Eastern star. Mrs Jackie Lee and Mr. anti Mrs George Lundquist drove to Corvallis to enjoy Mothers’ weekend with Mrs Lee’s son John Lee. A group including John Lee, from his fraternity house, sang for the Mothers Club. Mr. and Mrs Everett Shibley enjoyed a concert given by the Lewis and Clark college choir Friday eve. They also visited with Winnifred and Gilbert. While in town Friday Mr. Shib ley and Gilbert purchased a car for Jimmy Shibley which his sister Winnifred and friends will take to him as soon as this term of college is finished. Winnifred and her friends are going to work at the Ghost ranch at Abi- quin, New Mexico this summer where Jimmy Shibley is em ployed. Oliver Buxton, sec-treas. ox the Farmers National Farm Loan Association announced this week. Buxton said that effective May 1 the new 5 Drecent rate also is being made applicable to loans already on the bank’s books which bear higher rates of intrest. In the 4 Northwest states, the Federal Land Bank of Spokane has more than $16,000,000 in 5 1-2 percent loans outstanding and $7,000,- 000 in ponding lonns which will be leveled to the new rate, giving the farmers and ranchers concerned an annual interest savings in excess of $110,000. The Farmers association makes and services loans for the Federal Land Bank of Spo kane in Clackamas and Mult nomah counties. CLOSING DAY PROGRAM FOR KINDERGARTEN HERE ON MAY 15 The Estacada Kindergarten under the direction o f Mrs. El sie Hale, will have a closing day program on the morning o i May 15. Birthdays will be ob served for Tommy Tunnell,Ro nald Thomas, Gregory Kiggins and David Foreman. .The children will play several selections in their Rhythm Band and renew the singing of their favorite kindergarten songs.
