(afternoon) Clackamas County News Estacada, Oregon Page Five Friday, November 25, 1955 Local Girls May Compete For Rose Parade Crown A week’s expense-paid vacation in Hollywood and a chance to ride a spectacular float in the 1956 Tournament of Roses Parade — that’s the opportunity offered to all single girls in this area in a current contest for America’s "Queen of Liberty." Finalists from various parts of the country will be flown to Hollywood, view the Rose Parade and Rose Bowl football classic on January 2, and enjoy a week's whirl in the film capital, visiting movie studios and glamorous night spots. They will compete for the "Queen of Liberty" crown on Jack Bailey’s "Queen For A Day” show of December 29, broadcast nationally over the Mutual radio network. The winner will ride a lavish float in the nationally telecast Rose Parade, accompanied by the “ Airman of the Year." selected as the most outstanding member of the Air Force enlisted per sonnel.
