Oregon bicycle fatalities showed a
decrease o f nearly one-half as com
pared to 1939 with eight fatalities
listed in 1940 against 15 for the year
before, a drop o f 46.6 percent it w-al
revealed by Earl Snell, secretary of
state.
The year 1940 was the first time
since 1931 that bicycle fatalities have
dropped and it was the lowest num
ber o f victims since 1937 when six
persons were killed in bicycle traffic
accidents.
