its first victory o f the season on the
local diamond last Sunday afternoon,
when they defeated Oregon City in a
fast and exciting game, by a score of

plant and will make a specialty o f

ing and publishing business for
15 years and have owned and op
erated three different newspaper
plants. W e are married and have
one son.

cada chapter o f the Order o f the
Eastern Star, to the number o f 15,
were entertained last Wednesday at
tho Masonic Hall, by a large commit
tee o f Eastern Stars. A t 12:30 they
enjoyed a regular picnic dinner in the
dining hall and then gave a program,
which quite a number o f the moth
ers and friends enjoyed. The pro
gram consisted o f readings, vocal so
los, piano solos and duets, all o f
which proved highly entertaining.
Mrs. T. Ahlberg, chairman, spent
some time playing games with the
“ kiddies.” Later they all went to Es
tacada Lake park and enjoyed a short
time at the club house.
