An evangelist of national repute,
Rev. D. E. Anderson, of New York,
will come to the Haley Baptist church
for a series of meetings, May 21 to
June 2. Services each evening, ex
cepting Saturday, at 8 o ’clock. Eng
lish will be used throughout. Rev.
Gordon Johnson will be song leader,
at least part of the time. Rev. An
derson is a man of pleasing person
ality and a very interesting and
forceful speaker.
He will interest
both old and young in the Gospel
message. He is not new to us, as he
was here in a series o f meetings four
years ago. We bespeak for him an
earnest and attentive hearing. Please
come out to these meetings and study
with us the really worth while things
o f life and o f the world to come.
Next Sunday, May 19, Rev. Par-
ounagian, an Armenian by birth, will
be with us in the morning and speak
on the Near East Relief. No service
in the evening.— Andrew Johnson.

Gustave Dore, the noted French
artist, was once traveling in foreign
lands. In his travels, he had lost his
passport. When he came to where
the government officials demanded
the document, he told them he was
Dore, the French artist, but his pass
port had been lost. The officers did
not believe him, and, thinking to
catch him in an untruth, sneeringly
handed him a pencil and paper and
demanded his proof. “ All right,”

GRADUATION DAY
|
This week another class graduates from our
local school.
Like the ship of the sea those graduates lift anchor
and set sail. What storms will they face; what
shoals will threaten them; what ports will they cast
anchor in?
“ One ship drives east, another west
With the self-same winds that blow;
‘Tis the set of the sails and not the gales,
Which decides the way to go.”
Let us be perfectly frank. No ship ever ARRIVED
that did not have a definite objective and CHART
a course.
More men fail in this than in any other thing.
If you but guide your course with the simple rule to
spend LESS than you earn— the future is certain.
You are bound to arrive at the port of PROSPERITY
