were unexpectedly called to Iowa on
Saturday due to the serious illness o f
Mr. Winslow’s father.
Miss Florence Bumgardner is sick
it her home in Portland so there has
been no school here this week.
Mrs. Harry Beck spent a couple o f
days with her mother, Mrs. Omer
Karney, last week.
Ruth Fellows and A lfred Wright
uf Mulino spent Sunday with the fo r ­
mer’s mother, Mrs. Dailey.
Mrs. Ella Mallott called on Mrs.
Walter Gorbett one day last week.
Mrs. Ben Folton o f Fossil, Ore.,
is visiting with her aunt, Mrs. Geo.
Smith.
Mr. and Mrs. Millard Orem o f Wal-
terville spent the week end at the
Delbert Fischer home. They also vis-
ted several other homes while here.
Mrs. Burnell and daughter Ernes-
ine le ft Saturday fo r Eugene where
Mr. Burnell is employed.
John Laferty and fam ily o f Low ­
ell spent the week end at the Phil
lames home. Mrs. Laferty, who has
jeen staying with her daughter, Mrs.
lames, returned with her family.
Miss Iola Gorbett spent Tuesday
evening with her grandmother, Mrs.
VI. Garness, in Canby.
The Odds and Ends club met at

brook, Wednesday.
Donald Winslow, who has been em­
ployed at the Kerr mill at Cottage
Grove, came home Monday evening.
Ben Rhode, who works at the East­
ern <& Western camp, has been ill
with the flu.
Mr. and Mrs. R. I. Orem, Mrs. I.
0. Orem, Mr. and Mrs. Hopperson o f
Salem, spent the week end visiting
with friends and relatives here.
Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Comer have
rented the Grant Hcth place and will
ake possession soon.
The last literary program o f the
season will be held Friday, April 26.
