STARS ATTEND DISTRICT MEETING IN OREGON CITY More than thirty Eastern Stars from Estacada and vicinity attended the district meeting held in Oregon City Tuesday evening, of the Pioneer chapter of that place and Mountain chapter of Estacada. Mountain chap ter’s part of the session was the ini tiation of candidates, two being given the degrees o f the order, Mr. and Mrs. Win. C. Taylor, who are now members o f Estacada chapter. The worthy grand matron, Mrs. Bess Setters, and worthy grand pa tron, Gilbert H. Charters, were pres ent, besides other grand officers and past matrons and patrons. Pioneer chapter is the oldest in the state, it being originally No. 1, though some changes in jurisdiction resulted in its being given another number. An impressive and beautiful cere mony o f a flower degree was given by the Oregon City chapter in honor of the grand matron. The officers o f Mountain chapter did themselves proud in their initiatory work and re ceived much praise. The visitors were treated royally.
