BECK-AIKINS Miss Kathleen Beck and Jack Aik- :-s, both o f Estacada, were married the Christian church, Estacada, u 8:15 Sunday evening, December 30, many relatives and friends being present to witness the ceremony. The church was beautifully decor­ ated, having an arch o f greenery and flowers on the wall back o f the stage. At the center front o f the stage was a large red bell in front o f which the ceremony was performed. Rev. Hugh Foster o f the Christian church officiated. The bride wore a beautiful dress of blue and carried a bouquet o f white | carnations. She was attended by Miss Lenora Beck, and Oliver Beck was best man. Preceding the ceremony all en­ joyed “ Angela Mia,” as sung by Miss Lenora Beck. She was accompanied on the piano by Miss Elva Shibley. QUIET NEW YEAR There was little demonstration in Estacada Monday night when the old man 1928 disappeared and the now 1929 appeared on the scene. Some real peppy youngsters managed to 0f f 30me fire crackers at the time of the passing o f the old year, but nothing to get excited over. Hummers, a farmer, who lives near old Pleasant Home, about half way between San­ dy and Gresham. She was 20 years old, the eldest o f a large family o f children.
