Some dumped them on the market at as low as 23 cents per I, , pound dressed, while others sold at retail and received as much as 45 cents. This particular part o f the i . ¡„ ,.,,i„, state needs to organize, in order to get all their turkeys are worth. East- ern Oregon, us well as Southern Ore gon, is organized, and they are get- ’ • ting far more for their turkeys than the raisers in this community are getting. Then there is the problem o f the turkey thief, which must be gotten rid o f some way. It isn’t fair for the farmer, his wife and children, to work to raise turkeys and then have them stolen. It is not a real big task to publish the names and addresses of each per son, the number of turkeys or other kinds o f poultry sold, or the hogs, sheep, cows or veals sold. The loss is running too high for the people who raise them. They can’t stand this much longer, and since so many trucks are on the road doing for hire hauling and not being made to report to the public service commission of the amount hauled, and the income from hauling and expense and up keep o f the truck. Also the trailer is coming into the transportation o f stock and poultry and our next legislature should take action looking forward to the protec tion o f the farmers and poultry raisers. George Walter has been confined to his home for several days with the flu. He is up but not able to work. LIBERTY THEATRE [ = . Expenditures 1925 $ 500.00 St. * Sew. 1’ rin. 165.00 do. Int. . Gen.
