CLAN REUNION HELD
The annual reunion of the Yocum-
Buell-Thorp clan was held at Sheri­
dan Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas
Yocum of Estacada were among the

EAGLE CREEK, June 21.— (Spe­
cial).— Dahlias are blooming in Grant
Test’s garden, including among oth­
ers Polar Star, Countess of Lawn
dale and J. C. Gill. Grant is a great
lover of flowers and hopes some day
to have a real Japanese garden, to
which his place, “ Bonnybrook,” is
well suited. The neighbors are hop­
ing to see the Test road graded and
graveled this summer so they will be
able to drive through and witness
this beauty spot.
The annual school meeting held at
the school house on Monday evenint
was well attended. Oscar Judd was
elected director for a term of three
years, to succeed Wm. Sanders whost
term has expired. Mrs. Gertrude
Sanders was re-elected clerk. The
financial statement showed receipts
including balance on hand last year
of $2,710.68 and disbursements of
$2 .'109.70, leaving a balance on hand
of $406.98.
Thelma Troupe went to Portland
Thursday to spend a few days with
her school friend, M argaret Smith,

June 13. A splendid program was
given by a Scotch quartet from Port-

The past matrons of Mountain

their monthly meeting Tuesday af

Maude Sturgeon being hostesses. Thi
ladies, eleven in number, met at the

hostesses who took them in a round
about way to a cozy place in the Es­
tacada Lake district, where a table
and seats were arranged. They
spread the lunch and then ejoyed
themselves visiting and talking over

pated in the pleasant event were
Mrs. Catherine Allen, Ruth Keith,
Mary Smith, Elizabeth Wormer, Ida
Norris, Maude Smith, Dora Herring,
Louise Lamberson, Mae Reed, and
Maude Sturgeon. There was one vis­
itor, Mrs. W. W. Elder of Stayton.

Mr. and Mrs. Howard James and
their daughter Lois and husband.
Mr. and Mrs. James Burton of Port­
land, were guests of Mrs. Mae Reed
Tuesday evening. Mr. James will be
remembered by Estacada people who
resided here when he was principal
of the high school. He is just re­
cuperating from a very serious mast­
oid operation in a Portland hospital.
