The purpose of this meeting is to outline a policy of cooperation be­ tween the farmers and business men of the county. According to the tentative plans a banquet will be given early in the evening and fol­ lowing the banquet an open confer­ ence will be held. Listed on the program is J. C. Ainsworth, Portland banker, F. E. Price of the extension department of the Oregon State College; Matt C. Glover, master of the Pamona grange and Linn E. Jones, president of the Oregon City chamber of commerce. Each of the 19 granges of Clack­ amas county are expected to be rep­ resented. A musical program is be­ ing arranged by members of the Abernethy grange and high school students. Problems of mutual interest will be discussed and it is hoped that this conference will open the way for a series of similar meetings to be held in different section of the county for the purpose of establishing a closer spirit of co-operation and harmony. He resided at Wasco, Oregon, for 21 years, being salesman in the genera' merchandise store of J. Crosfield. With the exception of a short time spent in Alaska, he resided in Oregon all his life. Six years ago he came to Eitacadn and on April 19, 1924, was married to Mrs. Viola Douglass and remained here until his death. He was a member of Estacada lodge No. 175, I. O. O. F., and Cen- tenial Rebekah lodge; also was charter member of Estacada Encamp ment, No. 91. He is survived by the widow, Mrs. Viola Denning, two brothers and three sisters— L. F. Denning of Marshfield, W. S. Denning of Port­ age, Washington, Mrs. Tim,Ollivant of Roseburg, Mrs. M. E. Williams of Gresham and Mrs. U. S. Morgan of Estacada. Mr. Denning was a man of many admirable qualities; always cheerful and accommodating and had a host of friends who will long remember him.
