Patterson and family in Portland, Mrs. Patterson an aunt was buried last Sunday. The young people numbering twelve, of Garfield, met at the Weatherby home last Wednesday and organized a Christian Endeavor, with Evelyn Davis, president; Ruth Ayers ¡vice president, and Mildred Ayers secretary. The first devotional meet- i ing was held at the church Sunday night with Irma Salzwedel as leader, j and was well-attended. A fter the organizing, games relative to St. Pat- rick were played and refreshments concluded the evening. A Sunday school social was held in the church house Saturday eve ning, when the young folks o f the S. S. enjoyed a good time together. A monthly social for the S. S. mem bers will be held every month. Wrn. Corbin went to Portland Tuesday with Mr. and Mrs. Weath erby. Forest Ranger Armstrong will be at the Grange hall Friday night. March 18 to organize a fire-fighting unit in Garfield. Irma, William and Conrad Salz wedel accompanied Mr. and Mrs Weatherby to Eagle Creek last Fri day night to attend the Christian Endeavor meeting and social at the home o f Mr. and Mrs. William San ders. S. S. at Nora Memorial church, Sunday*at 2 o ’clock and the women’ missionary meeting at three. Prayer meeting will be held in the church this week, Thursday at 8:00. Wednesday night the officers of the Garfield Grange met at the grange hall for an officers’ confer ence and for drill work.
