The annual installation and ban­
quet of the Masons and Eastern S tar
was held last Thursday evening and
proved one of the most interesting
end successful in the history of the
two orders.
There was an unusually large a t­
tendance at both the ceremonies.
In addition to the reg u lar install­
ation procedure, W alter Scrutton, the
retiring W orshipful M aster of the
Vasonic order, was presented with a
beautiful apron by L o s:« - Townsend
in a most pleasing m anner.

degree in a very effective settin g and
was presented with a lovely E astern
S tar ring from the cra p ter and a
very attractiv e console set from her
officers fo r the year and the Pact
W orthy M atrons of the local lodge.
A fter the ceremonies a t the hall
were completed all ad journed to the
Estacada hotel where Mr. Moore end
his co-workers served one of the
finest banquets ever enjoyed by the
members of the orders.
Miss A nna Dillon acted as to a s’
mistress on this occasion and proved
herself most charm ing indeed.
Several musical num bers and the
usual routine of speeches w ere given
until a late hour.
