II. B. Snyder of Estacada was a
Portland visitor Monday. While in
the Rose City he made arrangem ents
to replace some of the m achinery
and add more at his sawmill, which
is located eight and a half miles
east of E stacada, in a community
known as the Dodge district. The
mill sta rted operations this morning
on dimension stuff, and it is the in­
tention of Mr. Snyder to run the mill
indefinitely. The mill has a capac­
ity of 15,000 fee t a day and a t pres­
ent employs nine men. Dodge fir is
being sawed. At a la ter date a de­
tailed rep o rt concerning this en ter­
prise will be given in the News. Lack
of space and tim e prevents a more
complete w rite-up this week.
