, Vorc Bus Line !n Port laud.
Following the general policy which
! 'S been adopted by virtually all the
leading electric railway systems of the
country, the Portland Electric Power
company is planning to extend Its bus
service in the Oregon Metropolis.
The company recently asked for
' franchises covering the operation of
I motor busses on five new lines which
ire designed to serve rapidly growing
! suburban dectious which are not now
served by adequate transportation
facilities.
These new bus lines are to act as
feeders for the existing street car
lines, and under the terms of the new
franchises, the company will give a
free transfer privilege to and from the
trolley lines without additional charge.
The live new bus lines will be in
operation some time before the end of
the year and will give the Portland
Electric Power company a total of six
bus lines and 32 electric railway lines.
The new bus service will represent an
investment of about $125,000.
In Portland as in nearly all other
cities where there has been a demand
l'or bus service to supplement the trol
ley service, the public as well as the
city authorities have taken the posi
tion that the existing street railway
system should be given the first op
portunity to provide the necessary bus
service.

cDhe i?e//er Buick is
aMan-siied Motor Car
People appreciate a smart-driving, easily-handled,
but full-sized, man-sized car. The Better Buick,
for instance.
Each Buick model seats its capacity o f full-grown
people— in relaxed ease— without cramped legs or
necks. T a ll people, especially, enjoy its extra
head-room and leg-room.
American men and women are above the average
stature. And a smaller car than Buick is apt to be
tight-fitting, low-ceilinged, crowded!
Drop in and try the ample, arm-chair comfort o f a
car that is right in size. Bring some o f your six-
footer friends. You will find another big reason
why Buick is so widely considered a better motor
car— another reason why there are a million and
more enthusiastic Buick owners.
Or telephone, and we will send a Better Buick to
your home or office for you to try.
