made a gruesom e find last Sunday
afternoon in the woods a t the lower
end of the park when he came onto
the body of a man, la te r identified
as th at of Pat O’Connor, aged 55
years, who had apparently
hung
himself by a light cord to a tree.
The cord had broken and the body
was found in a crouching position
as tho it had dropped there shortly
a fte r death.
From the surroundings it is sup
posed he had partaken heavily of
“ bootleg" liquor.
About fifteen dollars In cosh was
found on his person, a certificate
o f deposit showing $100. ami v ari
ous other papers were found. The
coroner was immediately notified
and came to investigate the case
and removed the body to Oregon
City.
