the time of Our Lord, and re
garded as part of the sacred
books. This is what is said con
cerning the physician:
' Honour a physician with the
honour due unto him for the uses
which ye may have of him: for
the Lord hath created him.”
“ For the physician receiveth
knowledge from the Most High,
and he shall receive gifts of the
king.”
“ The skill of the physician
shall lift up his head, and in the
sight of great men he shall be in
admiration.”
“ The Lord hath created medi
cines out of the earth; and he
that is wise will not abhor them. “
“ Was not water made sweet
with wood, that the virtue there
of might be known?”
“ And He hath given men skill,
that He might be honored in His
marvelous works.”
“ With such doth He heal men
and taketh away their pains.”

“ My son. in tl y sickness be
not negligent: but pray unto the
Lord, and He will make the
whole.”
“ Leave off from sin, and order
thy hands aright, and cleanse
thy heart from all wickedness.”
“ Give a sweet savour, and a
memorial of fine flour; and make
a fat offering, of thy substance
without delay.”
“ Then give place to the phy
sician, for the Lord hath created
him; let him not go from thee,
for thou hast need of him.”
"There is a time when in their
hands there is good success.”
“ For they also shall pray unto
the Lord, that He prosper that
which they give for ease and re
medy to prolong life.”
The above contains wholesome
advice to both the patient and
the physician, which if followed
would be greatly beneficial to
both.

should mean something to the
farmers of Oregon.
It should
warn them that if these condi
tions continue that the values
will drop out o f their land as it
has dropped out of the German
mark.
The day has gone by for mak
ing money in farming by buying
apiece o f land and selling it at a
profit. The buyer today uses
cold figures and hard estimates.
Can he make six or seven per
cent interest on the price asked
for the farm? If he cannot the
price is too high, and he will n t
buy it.
It is most important for farm
ers to realize that if they hope
to have their land worth any
where near what they paid for
it, they must put a value in that
land. It is up to them to make
farming profitable in order to
make land desirable. This must
be done in the same way that a
failing manufacturing industry
is reorganized and put on a pay
ing basis.
There must be an
organization that can sell the
products of the farm at a fair
margin of profit.
If this organization never
went further than handling its
products from the producer to
the retailer, it would make farm
ing profitable. If it never got a
cent higher price for products
than now, but could itself take
over a large part ot the middle
profits, farming would be profit
able.
Retail prices are high enough
now to warrant prosperous agri
cultural conditions. The trouble
is the producer does not get the
profits between him and the con
sumer. An army of middle in
terests live off the added costs be-

In spite of this tremendous increase in production, it v m
impossible to meet delivery requirements during the spring
and summer months when orders lor 350,000 Ford Car*
and T rucks could not be filled.
This year winter buying for immediate delivery has been
more active than ever before— and in addition 200,000
orders have already been booked through the Ford W eekly
Purchase Plan for spring delivery.
These lacts clearly indicate that the demand during this
spring and summer will be far greater than ever, and that
orders should be placed immediately with Ford Dealers as
a means of protection against delay in securing your Ford
