BARTON ITEMS
The Neighborly Club met with
Mrs. F. Shibley last week. The
next meeting will be with Mrs.
Nettie Grable.
“ Bunnie” Erickson of Port­
land is visiting with her grand­
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter
Erickson.
The school election was held
Monday at the school house and
Mrs. F. E. Erickson was elected
clerk for one year and Sylvester
Lawrence was elected director
to serve three years.
Mrs. Anna Zurcher of Silver-
ton visited her daughter, Mrs.
Joe Guthridge, several days last
week.
Mrs. Mary Ringo is a guest of
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Millard.
Rev. and Mrs. Day of the Ar-
leti Baptist church, a number of
the members of the choir, and
Mrs. S. E. Robinson, her son
and his wife, twelve persons in
all, were delightfully entertained
with dinner consisting of chicken
and strawberry shortcake and all
that goes with a well prepared
country menu at the home of
Mrs. S. E. Robinson, Sunday.
Rev. Day held services at the
school house, Sunday,
which
were much enjoyed.
Mrs. Lewis Rivers and son
went to to Gresham one day last i
week.
Mrs. Ed. Bates who has not j
been well for the last few weeks j
is not much improved.
The Barton school meeting was
much enjoyed by some as a vote
was cast for a new school house, j
the vote was 18 for and 8 against.
Hal Gibson was reelected direc­
tor by a large majority.
