EASTERN CLACKAMAS NEWS, THURSDAY, DECEMBER 28, 1922. G A R F IE L D BREVITIES EAG LE CREEK A hugh Christmas tree, loaded with Rifts and candy, graced the school room at Garfield last Fri day. A fine program was given by the pupils. Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Moreland spent Christmas at Canby and Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Reeher went to Portland. The T. Carpenter, J. W. Dill- inger, Wm. ShafTer and M. G. Weatherby families joined forces Christmas day and enjoyed their Christmas dinner at the Weath erby home, where a big tree was decorated for Gilbert. Sunday night, Dec. 31, a watch night gathering and taffy pul will be held in the Grange hall. Come and enjoy a social even ing. Don’ t forget that there will be Sunday School at 2 p. m. Sunday at Nora Memorial church. Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Trullinger gave a Christmas dinner and had as their guests Mr. and Mrs. George L. Story of Oregon City, M. C. Glover and wife and three childen, Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Glover and three children. All did justice to a fine Christmas dinner. H. C. Glover, wife and baby, spent Sunday with Mr3. Glover’s mother, Mrs. Colt in Portland. B A R T O N IT E M S The Christmas program and Santa was much enjoyed by all present, a large crowd atnend- ing. A number o f parties have been held at Peterson’s hall, where the evenings are spent playing games and dancing. The C. E. society gave its monthly social at the home of Mr, and Mrs. Ely Suter Friday evening. The Ladies’ Missionarv meet ing was held Wednesday after noon at the home of Mrs. H. C. Glover. There were fourteen ladies and nine children present. A dainty lnnch was served. E. L. and Millard Trullinger, W. G. Glover and It. E. Monger spent Saturday in Portland. The program at the school was rendered very nicely Friday a f ternoon. Quite a crowd attend ed and all enjoyed listening to the little folks. The program given at the church Sunday evening was en joyed very much. Glen Munger and Mr, and Mrs. R. Strange spent Christmas with Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Mur.- ger. v jr r t tt i. T .
