Very Interesting Indeed There must be an interesting inside story as to why Oregon was selected at this time for the attempt of the Scottish Rite branch of the Masonic fraternity to initiate a compulsory school attendance law. It is impossible to believe that the movement had its entire inception and au thorization locally. If not, has Oregon’s reputation as a good field for politician experimenta tion and its receptiveness and responsiveness to new tenden cies been responsible for its se lection? Or is the movement to be explained by the fact that Oregon is reported to have be come a thoroughly factionalized state along religious lines? Ore gon Voter.
