!
Rules governing the Goddes of
Liberty contest:
1. —Candidates must be nomi­
nated by some organization or
community.
2. —Votes will be sold at five
cents each.
3—Candidate receiving the
highest number of votes will be
declared elected.
Ballot boxes will be placed at
Marchbank’s Confectionery and
the Estacada Pharmacy. A bul­
letin board will be placed in the
office of S. E. Wooster where
standings of contestants will be
shown. Tuesdays and Fridays.
Contest opens Saturday, June 18,
and closes Saturday, July 2, at
12 M. Judges, Mrs. H. C. Steph­
ens, Mrs. V. W. Hauser and
Mrs. F. E. Burns.

Club Will Elect Officers
Notice of Publication.
At the meeting of the Commu­
nity club tomorrow night at the
Estacada hotel, in addition to the
annual election of officers, Mr.
Peake, president and manager
of the Carver Cannery Co., will
be present and will give an in­
teresting talk on the fruit and
berry situation. Fruit and berrv
growers are especially invited to
be present, as he wishes to meet
them personally.
The entertainment feature of
the program will be the story of
our national songs and their re­
lation to the periods in which
they originated. They will be
illustrated by characters in cos­
tume and everyone will join in
the songs. Other musical num­
bers will round out a very en­
joyable evening.

board feet at 50 cents per M. and the
land $160.00: that said applicant will
offer final proof in support of his ap­
plication and sworn statement on the
