SPRINGWATER NEWS
C. I. Raker & Son have moved
into their garage building on
Powell street, and are ready for
business. In fact they have been
so busy that they have found it
difficult to get their new quarters
ready for business.
The building is undoubtedly
the best in Gresham, and is said
to be the finest equipped Ford
garage found anywhere on the
Pacific coast, if not in the entire
country.
Every possible con
venience for the expeditious
handling o f repair and service
work is included in the equip
ment o f the building which re
presents a cost o f $40,000.
An experienced corps o f work
ers is on hand ready to seve the
public at at all times. C. I. Rak
er and son, E. W. Raker, have
general supervision of the gar
age and business, as well as the
Estacada garage, and are busy
all the time.
Ward Inglis will be in charge
o f the parts and accessory de
partment.
Mr. Inglis recently
came here from Estacada to
handle this line o f work.— Gres

A m erican Legion Notes
Anyone noticing the especially
happy smile adorning the face
o f past post commander Law
rence, is informed that the cause
thereof is not that one o f his
Jerseys has crowded all the rec
ord breakers off the map. No
sir, nothing ordinary like that.
The cause is that the Carl Doug
lass Post is now the possessor o f
a beautiful stand o f colors. Past
commander Lawrence’s
great
ambition was to have our post
so equipped, but it was not until
well toward the end o f his term
that the post treasury could
stand the strain. The stand o f
colors had to be made up after
being ordered and it has just
recently arrived.
At the last regular meeting,
three men from state headquar
ters gave us a visit. Comrade
E. J. Eivers, state adjutant, ex
plained the bonus bill to the men.
He strongly advises against the
acceptance o f the cash feature by
men who can use a loan. It is
hoped the people will pass this
bill at the June election, for it
means a greater and better Ore
gon.
