visit her old-time friend, Mrs.
W. H. Heylman.
Miss Marion Dunlop arrived
home from Umatilla, Ore., Mon­
day night to spend Christmas
with her parents.

the metropolis Monday on busi­
ness and to make a brief visit
with Mrs. Cary’s sister. Mrs. M.

and Chester Womer are home
from the O. A. C. to spend the
holiday vacation.

quet at the Hotel Estacada.
Mr. and W. J. Symms son-in­
law and daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. George Hislop, arrived with
their baby Monday morning.
They came here from Caldwell,
Idaho.
Conductor Grabel, who has
charge of the early morning
train, is now a resident of Esta­
cada. as his wife and children
arrived last week. They have
rooms at Hotel Estacada.
O r e g o n ’s campaign in the Chil­
dren’s Relief drive began Sur-
day. A. E. Sparks was around
this week soliciting for the re­
lief of the children of Europe,
and met with excellent success
so far.

from Portland and Mrs. Hislop
will join him in about a week.
They will make their home here
with their daughter, Mrs. O. E.
Syr«a. Mi. Hislop will work as
foreman of the N e w s office suc­
ceeding E. L. Crain resigned.
He is an old printer and news­
paper man of over forty years’
experience.
