Tillamook, Ore., July.—Dairy
Cows of Tillamook county re
c<*ived the highest rating in the
northwest i n tests made by
Washington Slate Csllege. An
average of 90G pounds of milk
* per cow per month was made by
7G2 cows of this county.
Hood River, Ore., July. —The
upper valley, which has been
noted for several years for its
seed potatoes, is now producing
large quantities of clover seed.
One farmer has just harvested
49 bushels from 11 acres, and
another 110 bushels from 40
. acres. The seed sells at $?’) a
bushel.
Corvalis, Ore., July. A to­
mato yitld of two pounds to the
square foot has been produced»
under glass in the agricultural
college. Two greenhouses 20 by
20 feet in size have already yield­
ed 1200 pounds of tomatoes and
are expected to give 2500 pounds
by the end of the season.
Portland, Ore , July. The way

experience o f t h e American
Brush Company of this city.
When the price of hog bristles
rose in China, the company
started bringing its shipments
direct to Portland instead of
through Puget Sound and found
that the freight cost saved just
balanced the rise in the price of
b ris tle s . So tin* price of brushes
was not alfected.
Ed Bates has returned home
from Ashland where he had been
visiting some weeks.

sen and their guest Mrs. Olsen
motored to Portland on Monday,
where Mrs. Olsen left for Chica­
go. after a six weeks’ visit at the
Christensen home, Springwater.

with his family for Eugene.

Marshfield where he has a posi­
tion on the High School faculty.
He was very successful here a*
teacher and athletic coach and

of the last Will and Testament of Peter
Schweitzer, deceased, by the County
Court of the State of Oregon for the
County of Clackamas, and has qualified.
