Miss Gertrude Alexander pass ed the Thanksgiving recess at her home in Gresham. Dr. McCall and wife and assist ed Portland friends in partaking o f a Thanksgiving dinner. Miss Gladys Joslyn of Port land was the guest of her friend Miss Marian Dunlop, for over Thanksgiving. Mr. and Mrs. Grover Fred erick o f Molalla visited with their uncle James Melton and family Tuesday and YVednesday. Miss Mable Wilcox is in Esta cada this week visiting her par ents. Mr. and Mrs. Gus Wilcox, who have apartments at the Es tacada hotel. Lewis Jones, at one time a res ident of this place, but now at tending Reed college in Portland, was in Estacada Saturday and Sunday visiting his sister and friends. Mrs. James Smith and child ren went to Newberg last Friday, to visit at t h e home of Mrs. Smith’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Townsend, returning S u n d a y night. On their return home they were held up, not by high waymen but by trouble with their car, which delayed them some hours. Phil Standish was in town Saturday and left that evening for Salt Lake, Utah. It is cur rently reported that he would meet at that place some one with whom he would proceed to California on a very auspicious and important trip.
