Smooth Running Depends
on Correct Lubrication
Motorists seldom realize the
damage which can be done to
their cars unless the correct con
sistency of lubricating oil is used.
The hidden parts of the car, that
require the most careful lubrica
tion, are so seldom exposed to
view that the injury done them
by an incorrect grade of oil does
not become evident until some
thing gives way.
Scored cylin
ders and badly worn piston rings
are common troubles.
Correct lubrication has become
an exact science. The Standard
Oil Company maintains a Board
of lubrication.
Engineers who
have determined by exhaustive
study of actual tests the correct
consistency of Zerolene for every
type of automobile engine. This
Board is continually at work de
termining the best oil for keep
ing the moving parts of the au
tomobile engine at the highest
pitch of efficiency.
For the convenience of motor
ists, the Standard Oil Company
has prepared a Correct Lubrica
tion Chart covering every type
of car. These charts show the
correct consistency of Zerolene
oils and greases as determined by
the tests and studies o f the
Board of Lubrication Engineers.
By following the chart, every
man can rest assured that his
automobile is correctly lubricated
which means better performance
and longer life for his car.
