J. 0. Staats of Oregon City,
will hold preaching services at

Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Wood'e
went down near Troutdale, Sun­
day and spent the day with their
son, Claude and family. Their
son Ma'colm and his family have
gone East to visit with Mrs. M.
Woodle’s father.
Mr. and Mrs. H. F. Gibson, J.
Gibson of Barton and Mrs. Nora
Reid and sons, Theodore and
Chester, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Wil­
cox and children, were calling on
Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Gibson, Sun­
day afternoon.

R. S. Clark and son Carl, who
have been working in Eastern
Oregon during harvest, have re­
turned home.
Miss Myrtle Molfmeister spent
Sunday with her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Fred Hoffmeister.
Lost her Canary Birds
A lady in town, had a pair of
canary birds, which she had had
for some time and were very
tame. She had been accustomed
to letting them out, and after
flying around, they would always
return to their cage. A short
time ago, she traded off the hen
bird for a new on^. Evidently
this “ female of the species“ was
more flighty than her predeces­
sor, for on being let out, she Hew
otr with the male and did not re­
turn. Where, O where are they ?
Have they met an untimely death
from the sling shot of some boy,
or the claws of a marauding cat?
Possibly however, they are on an
extended honey moon, and will
yet return. We have noticed
that this is often the case when a
widower takes unto himself a
young wife.

My brother John Fields, who
is an ex-soldier and was staying
with me last summer, has been
missing since June 17. He is
30 years old, about 5 feet 7 in.
in height, weight 150 lbs., dark
brown hair, blue eyes and light
complexion. Has a scar behind
left ear. Was last seen trying
to catch the train for Estacada
at Miller’s spur. Any informa­
