Page Two Rural Carrier Examination The United States Civil Ser vice Commission has announced an examination for the County of Clackamas, Oregon, to be held at Portland on October 25, 1919, to fill the position of rural ca Tier at Boring and Ustacada and va cancies that may later occur on rural routes from other post offi ces in the above-mentioned coun ty. The examination will be open only to citizens who are actually domiciled in the territo ry of a p°st office in the county and who meet the other require ments set forth in Form No. 1977. This form and application blanks may be obtained from the offices mentioned above or from the United States Civil Service Commission at Washington, I). C. Applications should be for warded to the commission at Washington at the earliest prac ticable date. Admission of women to this examination will be limited to the widows of U. S. soldiers, sailors, or marines, and to the wives of U. S. soldiers, sailors, or marines who are physically disqualified for examination, by reason of injuries received in the line of duty. McKay was an Oregon City and Portland visitor the first of the week. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Williams and baby daughter, Mrs. Annie Bec kett and daughters Misses Ma- ble and Vero Beckett of Port land. motored out and spent the ^iav Sunday at Mrs., Beckett’s farm home. Mrs. Sersanous and daughter Marie, of Hood River, and son Claude Sersanous and family of Sellwood, were out to Mr. Ser- sanous* farm home on Deep Creek Sunday. Roy Douglass sold some grain to Mr. Nelson the other day. Malcolm Woodle and family, of Troutdale, were giu sts at the Ray Woodle home Sunday.
