Wedding Bells
At the
First Presbyterian
Church, Portland, June 2d, 1919,
by the pastor, the Rev. Dr.
Boyd, Miss Emma Barr was
united in the bonds of Holy Mat­
rimony to Mr. Fred Herrman.
The bride is the youngest
daughter o f Mr. and Mrs. J. V.
Barr o f this place who last win­
ter taught the primary grades in
the Springwater school, and the
groom is a machinist, working in
Portland.
The newly married
pair left immediately after the
ceremony for Rockaway Beach
where they will pass the first
half o f their honeymoon. They
will be at home to their friends
after July 15, at «21 E. 10th St.,

Joshua Brumet, the 13-year-old
son of Mr. and Mrs. Brumet,
■who lately moved here from
Idaho, was taken seriously ill on
Sunday. I)r. Morse was called
and on the following Tuesday he
was taken to St. Vincent’s hos-
: pital in Portland where he un­
derwent an operation for ap­
pendicitis. He is reported to be
getting along nicely.
Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Cogswell
and daughter Mary left Wednes­
day for a camping trip and ex­
pect to be gone a couple o f
weeks.

Miss Ethel Monger, who has
been sick for the past week, is
now able to be up and around
again.
Mrs. Emma Thomas is helping
Mrs. Anna Full, o f Gresham,
with her sewing this week.
LOWER EAGLE CREEK
Master Herb Suter has gone to
Portland to spend a few days
with Mr. and Mrs. Will Still.
Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Cogswell
and daughter Mary have return­
ed after a two weeks auto trip
thru Hood River and other points
o f interest.
Mrs. Albert Harges has re­
turned home, having spent two
weeks at St. Martha Springs,
Carson. Wash., much improved
in general health.
Joshua Brumet, who was tak­
en to the St. Vincent’s hospital
and operated on for appendicitis
is getting along nicely.
Mr. Chris and Howard Long-
well, also Oren Ballou, - who are
employed at Marmot in a mill,
and VV. L. Smith, station agent
at Eagle Creek, have gone for a
ten days camping trip to tin*
coast. Harry Franks o f Port­
land will relieve Mr. Smith at
the station.
