Miss Morrison of the High School faculty, left Monday for Portland. Later on she may go to one of the coast resorts for the summer. The Ladies Aid of the M. E. Church will serve a dinner on the evening of June 18th. Plenty to eat served cafeteria style, com­ mencing at 6.30. Mrs. W. F. Cary and little daughter, of Boring, came to town last Friday. She was wanting some dental work done, but I)r. Wells was in Portland. W. H. Miss Marian Dunlop, daughter of Rev. and Mrs. J. F. Dunlop, arrived home on Saturday from Banks where she had closed her school. She was accompanied by her friend, Miss Gladys Jos- lyn of Cherry Grove, Ore., with whom she went this week to Portland for the Rose festival. Misses Elva and Clara Gut- tridge, of Prairie City, Ore., the neices of Mrs. D. B. Herring, who have been visiting her some time, left Monday for Portland to attend the Rose festival. They will subsequently go to Seattle and other Washington points before returning to their home. Ray Drill, of the class of 1920 Estacada High school, left Mon­ day for Portland where he has a position as machinist with the Willamette Iron Works Co. He held this same position last year, which he resigned last fall to pursue his studies in school. It speaks much for his mechanical ability that he was awarded it again on the expiration of the school year. G. E. Lawrence returned Sat­ urday morning from a trip to Harney county, and reports that there was a severe frost in that section last week. At Bend the water froze in the radiator of a car which was in a barn, and on Sunday, June 1st, the mer­ cury at the State experimental farm had dropped to 28.
