Scott, County Agricul tural Agent, called at the high school Monday in the interests of an agricultural meeting to be held on Friday evening March 21st. Watch for further announce ments. The committee of the P. T. A. met at the hi^h school Monday p. m. to discuss plans for decor ating the school grounds and will immediately proceed to make a collection of shrubs and plants for the purpose. Plans on foot for the summer school include classes in short hand, typing, bookkeeping, shop, agriculture, home economics, etc. as desired by those who enroll. There are no fees, provision hav ing been made financially by an appropriation of school funds. In addition to the classes mention ed above, both grade and high school students who are back in their work or who desire to make an extra credit or make up back work will be given an opportun ity. The Smith-Hughes work i n agriculture is getting a good start, lioth the federal and state plans having been explained to the students, class surveys have been taken with a view to find out just what line each student is interested in and what project he will tak° up, plans for decor ating the school grounds have been considered, a class in gard ening has been started. The eighth grade is also organized for agricultural work and are doing some practical experimenting. In the Library bulletins and re ference works in agriculture have been indexed and classified for reference. A study of hot bed is in progress and will be made and used as a practical part of the work. Field trips are be ginning and as soon as the weath er permits, half the time will be devoted to this work. Special M eeting. A special School meeting for Dist. 108 will be held in the High School building, Thursday March 20th, at 7:30 p. m., as per ad journment, to give the committee time to finish the District’s books and make report.
