c in c t re m in d e r of th e enorm ous r e ­
s o u rc e s of th e A m erican farm and th e
fa r m e r s in sta n t rea d in ess to m e e t
any w a r dem ands th a n a brief dis­
p atch from London recently a n n o u n c ­
ing th e suspension of th e ration limit
on bacon.
Owing to th e accum ulation of stocks
of 97,000,000 pounds of bacon from
A m erica, th e dispatch said, th e r a tio n ­
ing of bacon would be a b a n doned for
th e tim e.
Since this e n orm ous stock w as for
civilian req u irem e n ts and probably a
m uch g r e a t e r q u a n tity had been sa fe ­
ly landed for allied a rm y needs it
