For a time this morning (Thursday) it looked as though Estacada was left off the map.
The city water was turned off, while repairs were being made in a leaking main.
The electric lights were out during the night, with dynamiting going on near Cazadero.
And the morning mail failed to arrive, for some reason or other.
But our place of business was running full blast as always.
We, (meaning Mrs. Givens and Walter) are beginning to feel as though we were real patriots during these
harvesting days. For we are managing to run this business, with the help of a few kids, while Fred Bartholomew
is doing his bit in the harvest fields of Eastern Oregon. And we expect to make our regular Livestock Shipment
Friday July 19th.
